My mentor & friend

Through the strangest set of “coincidences”, life brought me back in touch with my dear friend and kayaking mentor Dan Lewis @ Rainforest Kayaking Adventures today. Just when I needed it… the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
Dan has taught me everything worthwhile I’ve ever learned about kayaking and the ocean. He’s also transformed my life every single time we’ve been on the water together… sometimes drastically, sometimes subtly… but always for the better. I would say it’s not in a small part thanks to him that I live on the BC coast today. And that I am able to explore it in the most awe-inspiring way… by kayak… one stroke of the blade at a time… and for that I am very thankful.
We will be hosting him and his partner Bonny for their presentation Secrets of Clayoquot on April 6th 2011 on Salt Spring Island.
I’m stoked and inspired at the thought of seeing them again… and to pick up our paddles where we left off!
