Record collection goal: We want to own the original vinyl of every single Beatles album!
Plans for Friday night have changed with this wonderful development!
It’s always a great sales tactic to make your customer feel dumb and technically insufficient. Go the snobby expert route and state your total superiority when it comes to all audio matters. Well, Mr. Sound Hound, I have been thoroughly underwhelmed by your last two half-ditch efforts at tuning up our turntable and amp, so why would this subwoofer revamp be any different?
So I just ordered the parts online, for a fraction of the costs you quote me, and I’ll fix it myself… and I’ll get it right… the first time around. I’m not some total nitwit who can’t glue a speaker cone back together…
And O Yeah, one more thing. When I do buy the audio setup of my dreams… think Harman Kardon components and Bose 901 speakers… it won’t be anywhere near your store. HA!
Thanks to the amazing Dance Department podcast for bringing this track!
After a blissful Valentines weekend together on Salt Spring, we drove back to Victoria together on Valentines Monday. It’s exactly three months ago today that we went on our first date: martini’s at The Mint and the Metric concert at SOFA.
Pamela won tickets to see Elton John on 98.5 The Ocean. On Valentines Day. Like really.
So we re-enacted our first date. I met Pamela at the bar at the Mint, and felt just like the first time I laid eyes on her. We were both nervous and excited. Three martini’s and some finger food later, we made our way to SOFA.
Elton was awesome… he seemed genuinely happy and excited to perform. We missed the first hour (duh) but still got all the good stuff: I Guess that’s Why They Call it the Blues, Rocket Man, Bennie and the Jets, Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word, Candle in the Wind… then the perfect encore with Your Song and Don’t let the Sun Go Down on Me. We sang every song we knew together, and I just knew what the encore would be… Your Song. Perfect finale to a perfect Valentines date
I drove home… in the Audi… same route… same destination…
Sent from her iPhone while on the Long Harbour ferry… from an AIBC day in Vancouver… coming home to me… for our Valentine’s weekend.
